We offer a termly alternate 2-week menu, we cater for individual dietary requirements. We have an onsite chef that cooks everything on site fresh.

Our setting believes opportunities for outdoor play are crucial to providing the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for children from birth to five years. Fresh air and exercise are important factors for promoting good physical health. Our staff will be actively involved with children whilst playing outside, where appropriate.

We will aim to create an atmosphere where children can learn to take risks in a controlled environment. The children have access to a different variety of equipment alongside open-ended resources to develop their imagination, solve problems and learn about the world around them. The staff ensure a balance of adult led and self-chosen or child-initiated activities are delivered outdoors as well as indoors. 

The safety of children accessing the outdoor area is crucial; a full risk assessment will be carried out and reviewed regularly. Although the principles of continuous outdoor play will be adopted the safety and well- being of children will always be prioritised and outside play may be temporally restricted if this compromises children’s safety. 

Practitioners will monitor children’s needs while outside and will support the children to recognise when they are cold and encourage them to come inside to warm up if needed.

During spells of extreme weather cold or hot the children’s welfare, learning and development are maintained to a high standard and the outdoor play will be reviewed and adapted to meet all requirements. 

Children in the early year’s foundation stage benefit from spending a lot of time learning through play outside, whatever the weather. This makes a significant contribution to the excellent progress they make, particularly in their personal social and emotional development.
